CPHSS recently released the 2013 Evaluation Report for the Healthy & Active Communities (H&AC) Initiative. Funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH), this initiative promotes healthy lifestyles and aims to reduce obesity rates in Missouri. CPHSS serves as the external evaluator for the H&AC Initiative.
The 2013 Evaluation Report summarizes key findings of the H&AC Initiative. It draws on six years’ worth of information from the external evaluation of three H&AC Initiative funding strategies. These strategies were designed to fund grantees to combat obesity through mixed methods, including direct programming, the built environment, advocacy, and policy change.
The new 2013 Evaluation Report reflects the Center’s efforts to continue to display data in a more visual and interactive manner to promote reader engagement and understanding. When viewed in PDF viewer software like Adobe Reader, the reader can click on icons throughout the report to activate pop-up boxes with additional details, examples, or links to resources. “Providing simple interactivity in the report, such as embedding pop-up boxes, provides an opportunity to annotate the information and allows readers an opportunity to explore additional details or data,” said Nikole Lobb Dougherty, evaluation coordinator for the project.
