CPHSS staff present at AEA Annual Conference

Several CPHSS staff members presented at the American Evaluators Association (AEA) Annual Conference from October 16-19, 2013 in Washington, DC. This year’s conference, Evaluation 2013: Evaluation Practice in the Early 21st Century, asked practitioners to use their evaluation skills to reflect upon evaluation practice and how it differs across disciplines, content areas, states, and countries. The conference offered presentations, poster sessions, plenaries, and professional development workshops on a variety of evaluation subjects.

CPHSS Healthy and Active Communities Initiative Project Manager Nikole Lobb Dougherty presented in a session entitled “Getting Equity Advocacy Results and Assessing the Strength of Local Level Policies: Two Independent Approaches to Evaluating Advocacy and Policy Change.” View presentation and handout.

CPHSS Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Policy Analysis lead Colleen Barbero presented on “Evaluating Health Policies: Evidence, Practice, and Capacity Building.” View presentation.

CPHSS Manager of Research and Evaluation Sarah Shelton and Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Initiative Project Coordinator Caren Bacon led a presentation entitled “Assessing the Depth, Breadth, and Quality of Community Health Programming: The Strength of Community Health Programming Index.”  View presentation.
